Pre-K
Ages 4 Years & Up
Our Pre-K Program is the final and most advanced stage of the Semillitas early learning journey. Building upon the strong foundations established in our younger classrooms, Pre-K students develop the academic skills, confidence, independence, and character needed for a successful transition into kindergarten and beyond.
Through a bilingual, Christ-centered learning environment, children engage in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, creative expression, and character development in both English and Spanish. Our program is intentionally designed to help children become confident communicators, critical thinkers, and enthusiastic learners while preparing them academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually for the next chapter of their education.
Using the Creative Curriculum® framework and aligned with New Jersey early learning standards, our teachers provide a balance of structured instruction, hands-on exploration, collaborative learning, and purposeful play. Children are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, work independently, and develop the confidence to take on new challenges.
A defining feature of our Pre-K Program is bilingual kindergarten readiness. Through daily experiences in English and Spanish, children develop strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, communication, and social development while maintaining the joy, creativity, and curiosity that make learning meaningful. By graduation, children leave Semillitas confident, bilingual, and fully prepared for kindergarten success.
What Children Experience
Cognitive Development
Children strengthen early reading, phonics, vocabulary, writing readiness, mathematics, science exploration, memory skills, sequencing, and critical thinking through engaging bilingual instruction and hands-on learning experiences.
Physical Development
Fine motor skills continue to develop through writing, cutting, tracing, art, and classroom projects, while outdoor activities, movement exercises, games, and cooperative play support physical coordination and healthy development.
Social & Emotional Development
Children build confidence, independence, emotional awareness, cooperation, and conflict-resolution skills through meaningful classroom experiences. Teachers guide students in developing responsibility, focus, positive relationships, and kindergarten-ready behaviors.
Spiritual Development
Daily devotional time, Bible stories, prayer, worship music, Scripture memory, and character-building lessons help children deepen their understanding of faith while learning values such as integrity, empathy, gratitude, service, and respect.
